ART MUSEUMS

Cahoon Museum of American Art, 4676 Falmouth Road, Cotuit; 508-428-7581. 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays and 1-4 p.m. Sundays. Docent tours 11 a.m. Fridays. Collection of 19th century American art and primitive paintings by Ralph and Martha Cahoon on view in 1775 colonial home. Special exhibitions, gallery talks, summer art classes and gift shop. $4, free for children under 12.

Cape Cod Museum of Art, 60 Hope Lane (off Route 6A), Dennis (at Cape Playhouse Center for the Arts); 508-385-4477. 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays (until 8 p.m. Thursdays), noon-5 p.m. Sundays. Guided tours, 11 a.m. Saturday, 1 p.m. Sunday and 2 p.m. Thursday. Seven galleries of Cape artists, sculpture garden, museum shop, special events, classes for adults and children. Admission: $8, free ages 18 and under, $5 groups of 12 or more. Artful Thursdays: admission by donation 10 a.m.-8 p.m.; talks 11 a.m.; tours 2 p.m.; art library 1-3 p.m.

''Great Jazz Art & Memorabilia,” through April 29, Cultural Center of Cape Cod, 307 Old Main St., South Yarmouth. Part of Jazz Week at the Cultural Center of Cape Cod. ''A Kaleidoscope of Hand-Hooked Rugs,” hooked rug exhibit, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Dennis Senior Center, 1045 Route 134, East Dennis. Jessie Turbayne will sign her sixth rug-hooking book, ''Hooked on Rugs,” and offer verbal rug appraisals for $5 per rug. Proceeds benefit the Cranberry Guild. $5. 508-398-1355.

Eastwind Gallery, Route 6A and Main Street (under Watson's), Orleans, 508-240-2133, will be reopening for the 2007 season on Friday. A new art show, ''Splashes of Spring,” runs through end of June and features original paintings by Cape Cod artists. Artwork in oils, watercolors, pastels, and acrylics available. Pottery also on display. Open 11 am.-4 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
